Your Menomonee Falls Police Department presents:  Weather Safety
Hello Kids!

This is one of my favorite things to do: swim in icy water!

My name is Officer North
It's an easy name to remember, because I am a polar bear and I live up at the cold North Pole!

I love all kinds of weather!
Bad weather does not bother me, but I am a bear and I am built to handle it!

However, where *people* are concerned, it's VERY SMART to take the right steps to protect yourselves from bad storms!

The "Getting Ready for Bad Weather" tips below are provided by the Federal Emergency Management
Agency.

  1. If the weather looks bad, listen to the radio or television for a forecast.
  2. Have on hand a battery-operated radio and extra batteries.
  3. Keep a supply of canned and ready-to-eat foods and bottled water.
  4. Keep Emergency supplies handy.
If a tornado is coming.....
  1. Go to the basement or interior room or hallway on the bottom floor of your house.
  2. Get under a table, cover your head.
  3. Stay away from windows.
