Founded in 1906, the Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin Public Library provides materials, services and programs to meet the educational and recreational needs of the community.

Please note: The Menomonee Falls WI Public Library now closes at 5:00pm on Fridays.

The Library Friends meet on the 4th Tuesday of every month (except July and December,) at 1:00 pm.  We meet in the Community Meeting Room (unless moved to the Board Room.)  All members are welcome.  Click on the link above to join Library Friends.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Transition to Digital TV

May 20, two sessions 2:30pm or 7:30pm.  Menomonee Falls Public Library presents Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Transition to Digital TV by John Kuzma from the Federal Communications Commission.  He will explain the federal law that requires that all full-power television broadcast stations stop broadcasting in analog format and switch to digital format and the effects of the viewer and television. Winners of Youth Art Shows

In the show "Art Draws Us Together," the M. F. School District Youth Art Show in March, "Emerging Glance," a self-portrait by Mary Vang, MFHS grade 12, won the Friends Purchase Award.  Special Achievement ribbons went to "Piccasso Collage" by Dana Maltby, Shady Lane grade 5, "Power" by Sara Peck, MFHS grade 12, and "Still Life" by Ben Schwabenlander, MFHS grade 10.

In "Dream in Color," the Youth Art Show of parochial schools in April, "Beautiful Copper" a ceramic vase by Jamie Schneider, St. Mary's grade 6, won the Friends Purchase Award.  Special Achievement ribbons went to "Haiku" by Ethan Johns, Bethlehem Lutheran grade 8, "Untitled" by Lea Ratzmann, Bethlehem Lutheran grade 8, and "Sticks of Madness" by Jacob Schwartz, Grace Lutheran grade 6.

Friends will underwrite a series of all-age summer programs in the Youth Library. These will be in addition to programs already planned.  Volunteers are needed to various parts of summer programs in the Youth Library.  

Save Money - Start A Vegetable Garden

May 14 at 7pm. Menomonee Falls Public Library presents Save Money- Start A Vegetable Garden by Nina Jones, a Master Gardener on Wednesday.

Ms. Jones has been gardening since she was six years old and works as the Director of Development at the Friends of the Boerner Botanical Gardens. Reserve a spot for this great program and receive a free gift. Call 262-532-8920.

May 6 at 1pm: MOUSE AND TYPING PRACTICE
Prerequisite: None.  The two skills which are most critical in learning how to use a computer are using the mouse and typing. In this class you will have a chance to practice both skills.

May 16 at 2pm: LOOK IT UP AT THE LIBRARY
Prerequisite: None.  Practice using the card catalog and other library resources!

May 12, 13 at 1pm: USING THE INTERNET (PARTS I AND II)
Prerequisite: Know how to use a computer. Learn what the internet is, how it works, and how to use it safely.
